Am I eligible for a Canadian Provincial Nominee Programme?

 
Before you can apply to immigrate to Canada as a provincial nominee, you must first be nominated by a province or territory. Each province or territory has its own application procedures. Each province in Canada offers a few different streams under the Provincial Nominee Programme. Alberta PNP streams:

  • Skilled worker – you can apply if you have to have a permanent, full time job offer from an Alberta employer in a skilled occupation in level 0, A or B on the NOC. Some semi-skilled occupation in level C and D are also eligible to apply;
  • International graduate – you can apply if you are a recent graduate form a Canadian post-secondary institution and you have a job offer from an employer in Alberta;
  • Tradesperson – you can apply through this stream if you have an Alberta Qualification Certificate;
  • Engineers - if you are an engineer with experience in Alberta;
  • Farmers – if you have good background in farming and you would like to purchase or invest in a farm in Alberta;

British Columbia (BC) PNP streams:

  • Strategic occupations – this steam helps employers to recruit or retain qualified foreign workers to meet labour market needs. To apply for this stream you must either have a job offer from an employer in BC or you must have completed a masters or doctorate degree in BC.
  • Business Immigration – this stream will be suitable for you if you are an experienced business entrepreneur you plan to invest and actively manage a business in BC.

Manitoba PNP streams:

  • Temporary foreign worker – you can apply, if you have been working with a Manitoba employer for the past 6 months on a temporary visa;
  • Student graduate – you can apply if you have completed a diploma, degree of higher education and you have min 6 months of experience in Manitoba on a post-graduate work permit;
  • Close relative - you can apply, if you have a sound settlement plan and you have a close family member living in Manitoba;
  • Friend - you have a settlement plan supported by a friend living in Manitoba;
  • Past school or work experience in Manitoba.

New Brunswick PNP streams:

  • Business applicants – you may apply for this stream if you would like to make an investment in New Brunswick;
  • Skilled worker with employer support – you need to be a skilled worker and you need to have a full-time job offer from a New Brunswick employer;
  • Skilled worker with family support – you can apply thorugh this stream if you are a skilled worker and you have a close family member living in this province.

Newfoundland and Labrador PNP streams:

  • Skilled Workers - you must have to full time job offer from an employer in the province and have the required skills for the job and have a work permit;
  • International Graduate - you must have completed at diploma or a degree in the province, or if you have completed your studies in an other province, you need to have min 12 months of experience in your field gained in Newfoundland and Labrador;
  • Entrepreneur -you can apply through this stream, if you are an experiences business entrepreneur and you would like to invest in the province.

Northwest Territories PNP streams:

  • Entrepreneur – you must have the required level of financial investment to start a new business or purchase an existing business;
  • Self-employed worker – you must provide evidence of sufficient funds you support yourself and your family and funds to establish your business as self-employed worker;
  • Skilled worker – your occupation needs to be among the skilled ones in the NOC – in level 0, A or B and you have to have the required skills. Critical impact worker- your occupation must correspond to the current labour market needs

Nova Scotia PNP streams:

  • Skilled worker - You must have a job offer from an employer based in this province, you must have worked for your employer for min 3 consecutive months prior to lodging your application.
  • Community Identified – if you have a strong connection to a community in Nova Scotia and significant employment prospects, you may apply for this stream;
  • Family Business worker – this stream will be suitable for you if you have received a full-time job offer from a Nova Scotia business owned by a close relative.

Ontario PNP streams:

  • Foreign worker - you will need to be a skilled worker (your occupation needs to appear in level 0, A or B on the NOC) and you need to have a full time job offer by an Ontario employer;
  • Investors – this stream will be suitable for you if you would like to invest in the province of Ontario;
  • Students – you can apply, if you are a graduate from a Canadian university and have a job offer from an employer in Ontario. If you have a Masters or a PhD degree from a university in Ontario you may apply without having to have a job offer ;

Prince Edward Island PNP streams:

  • Business impact category- you can through for this stream if you would like to invest and actively operate a business in the province;
  • Labour impact category – you can apply through this stream if you are a skilled worker (your occupation is in skilled level 0, A or B) and you have a full-time job offer by an employer in this province and be a holder of a work permit. You may also apply if you are a semi-skilled worker (skilled level C or D). is certain occupations that meet the labour market needs.

Saskatchewan PNP streams:

  • Skilled workers – you can apply through this stream if you are a skilled worker, professional or a manager and you have a full-time permanent job offer from a Saskatchewan employer;
  • Entrepreneurs –this category will be suitable for you if you would like to invest in a Saskatchewan business;
  • Family referral –you can apply if you have family members living in Saskatchewan for at least 12 months and they are currently working, your family members may sponsor you under this category;
  • Farm owners – you may apply through this stream if you have good background in farming and you would like to invest in a farm in the province;
  • Health professionals – this stram will be suitable for you if you are a health professional who has been working in Saskatchewan for at least 6 months under a work permit;
  • Hospitality sector – if you are currently working in the hospitality sector in the province, you may be eligible to apply through this stream;
  • Truck driver – if you have been working for a Saskatchewan trucking firm for min 6 months, you may apply for this stream;
  • Students – You may apply through this stream if you have graduated from a post-secondary educational institution in the province.

Yukon Territory PNP streams:

  • Business programme – this stream will be suitable for you if you are looking to invest in this province;
  • Skilled workers – if you are a skilled worker and you have a job offer from a Yukon employer, you may apply through this stream.
